Miller) This research develops an agent based simulation model for application to the sortie generation process, focusing on a single fighter aircraft unit. The simulation includes representations of each individual maintainer within the unit, along with supervisory agents that provide direction in the form of dynamic task prioritization and resource assignment. Using a high-fidelity depiction of each entity, an exploration of the effects of different mixes of skill levels and United States Air Force Specialty Codes (AFSCs) on sortie production is performed. Analysis is conducted using an experimental design with results presented demonstrating the effects of maintenance manning decisions on the Combat Mission Readiness (CMR) of a fighter unit. IMPACT OF AN AUTONOMIC LOGISTICS SYSTEM ( ALS ) ON THE SORTIE GENERATION PROCESS Paul
The current Air Force aircraft logistics system is reactive in nature, meaning that once a fault is detected, maintenance personnel must perform fault isolation procedures and then take steps to repair or replace the faulty item. The Autonomic Logistics System (ALS) concept changes this reactive process into a proactive one. This new approach to the logistics process shows the potential for cos...
متن کاملNovel Auxiliary Power Unit Configuration Based On Fuel Cell Technology for Civil Aircraft Application
This paper proposes novel Fuel Cell Auxiliary Power Unit (FCAPU) for J150+ aircraft application. The primary version of APU in J150+ aircraft is a gas turbine Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) which is based on gas turbine jet engine but in the suggested FCAPU, the generated electrical power is achieved from chemical energy with higher efficiency. The Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) technology is used to...
متن کاملImplementation of "MSG-3" for Crack Growth Analysis of Aircraft SSI Components
The main goal of this article is to implement the MSG-3 process in structure field for an SSI component of b747 aircraft. This process is expected toincrease the ease of aircraft maintenance and its safety level. MSG-3 logic took a top-down or consequence of failure approachmeaning that MSG-3 reduces the maintenance cost and upgrades safety. Moreover, it cansignificantly help saving thetime and...
متن کاملA Multi Agent Based Model for Airport Service Planning
Aviation industry is highly dynamic and demanding in nature that time and safety are the two most important factors while one of the major sources of delay is aircraft on ground because of it complexity, a lot of machinery like vehicles are involved and lots of communication are involved. As one of the aircraft ground services providers in Hong Kong International Airport, China Aircraft Service...
متن کامل3D Modelling of Under Ground Burried Objects Based on Ground Penetration Radar
There is a growing demand for mapping and 3D modelling of buried objects such as pipelines, agricultural hetitage, landmines and other buried objects. Usually, large scale and high resolution maps from these objects are needed. Manually map generation and modeling of these objects are cost and time consuming and is dependent on lots of resources. Therefore, automating the subsurface mapping and...
